Day 1: ATHENS – MYCENAE – NAUPLION
Drive along the coastal road of the Saronic Gulf you pass Daphne and Eleusis and arrive at the Corinth Canal, which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea (shortstop). Drive on to Mycenae, the Homeric city of the Atreides – the city ‘rich in gold’ of the ancient poets (visit the Lion’s Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, and the Royal Tombs). Day 2: NAUPLION – EPIDAURUS – ATHENS

Morning at leisure and after lunch leave for Epidaurus to visit Asclepeion and the Theatre.
The Asclepeion at Epidaurus was the most celebrated healing centre of the Classical world, the place where ill people went in the hope of being cured. To find out the right cure for their ailments, they spent a night in the enkoimeteria, a big sleeping hall. In their dreams, the god himself would advise them on what they had to do to regain their health.
The theatre is admired for its exceptional acoustics, which permits almost perfect intelligibility of unamplified spoken words from the proscenium or skēnē to all 14,000 spectators, regardless of their seating
Return to Athens by the national road connecting Epidaurus with Corinth late in the afternoon.
